Up for sale is a Vintage 1940s Coleman Instruments PH Electrometer Scientific Laboratory instrument. It has radio tubes inside. See all photos. NOTE: I did not plug this in to test it! No idea if it lights up? It came from a working lab and I have had it since the late 70’s and it was made probably in the 1940s or earlier. It may have a Bakelite case, looks like, but I can’t guarantee it. It is black colour. It has Art Deco trim on the meter and Art Deco knobs and also an Art Deco plug. It is a heavy unit. It measures approx. 12 inch x 10 inch x 6 inch high at back and 4 inch high at front. There are 2 glass testing tubes (electrodes). Not sure if the tip of one is broken off or if it is made that way? Please see photo #5, left tube. The actual PH meter is large at 4.5 inches x 4.25 inches. The unit itself is in great condition. All signs and plaques are bright and paint is excellent. See all photos. The back has a tag marked as follows: C.I.R.S. (DDP) Canadian Government Property. Front tag is as follows: PH electrometer. Coleman instruments. Maywood Illinois. 115 volts, 50/60 cycles. 60 watts. Inst. #B-3960. Model 18. Also marked Canadian Laboratory Supplies. The unit is heavy. Shipping in Canada is 35.00 and 50.00 to USA. Thanks.
