Columbine Crimson Star - Highly attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies, this easy-to-grow Columbine seed mix is a wonderful addition to the summer border. Growing readily from Columbine flower seed, this Columbine red features large, 4 inch flowers. The foliage is also very special with its fancy-lobed, dusky blue-green leaves. SOWING: Sow: March - May Season: Perennial Height: 32 inches / 80cm Bloom Season: June - October Environment: Full sun Soil Type: Well-drained, pH 5.6 to 6.6. Temperature: 18 - 21 C (65 F - 70 F) Depth: Do not cover the seeds Plant Spacing: 16 inches / 40 cm Five or six weeks after sowing the seeds, transplant the seedlings into 3 inch pots, and grow on in cooler temperatures with plenty of light. Harden young plants for 10 - 14 days before planting outdoors after last frost date. |
