Description

The guava, and its fruit, the guayaba (word of origin arahuaca, being its scientific name Psidium guajava), is a species of small tree belonging to the family of the Myrtaceae.

Its fruit is very appreciated for its mild acidity and good flavor, being its appearance of colored shell, in yellowish-green tones, and its interior can be pink, red, white, yellow or orange, or have an intermediate tone of the previous ones. Its pulp is characterized by containing many small seeds, and a sweet aroma. It is a very common tree in pastures dedicated to cattle, where traditionally, due to the ease that they present to be scaled, they provide fruits to the inhabitants of the area.
