St. John's wort

St. John's wort is a perennial, herbaceous medicinal plant. It is originated to Europe, Africa and West Asia.
In folk medicine, its flowering parts are used. Chemical components of this plant have antibacterial, antispasmodic, healing and regenerating effect.
So it is used for stomach and intestinal complaints. Externally, it can be used for hemostasis and to promote wound healing.
This plant is also used to treat depressive moods.
For a long time St. John's wort was also used as a remedy for sorcery and temptations by the devil.
