This is a very good brass candlesticks made in France under the reign of Louis XV. We date it as circa 1720.

It was cast in two parts, the shaft and the base. The threads that attach the two sections are clearly hand cut.

There is an ejector hole in the socket, used for removing the spent stub of a candle.

It is heavy and well finished, signs of quality workmanship. It weighs 12.4 ounces.

The candlestick measure 7¼ inches high and 4⅛   inches across the base.

We have not pollished it because different buyers have different ideas about this. It would definitely take a good polish and look quite spectacular.

We are sorry but we do not accept bids from buyers with no feedback or negative feedback unless cleared with us beforehand.
