Denseflower mullein

Latin name: Verbascum densiflorum

Denseflowered mullein is a biennial herbaceous plant from Central Europe.
It thrives on meadows, debris and forest edges.
Mullein has the ability to soothe irritated mucous membrane as well as the mucus solution in the respiratory tract.
Infusion tea of its flower also promotes wound healing.
In the past, its dried flower stalks were soaked in resin and tar and used as torches.
In ancient times its seeds were sprinkled into water to make fishing easier.
Saponins contained in the plant blocked the breathing of the gills so fish were forced to come to the surface.
