Stunning 12 inch high, semi double flowers that stand out in any garden with the velvety blooms in the
deepest red/mahogany to the deepest purple/black.
These are not a climbing variety and wonderful in your borders & containers.
Like all Nasturtiums, Black Velvet is edible with a peppery flavour.
In WW11 these delightful flowers were often substituted for pepper in recipes.
Soak the seeds overnight and they do best when planted direct or in degradable pots.
Can be started indoors but needs care in transplanting.
Germination 10 to 14 days
Sow 1/2 inch deep in a area that gets at least 6 hours of direct sun each day.
Plant out after risk of frost has passed.
Can be grown in a sunny window inside year round with the height of only 9 to 12 inches tall
