Wild apple 

Latin name: Malus sylvestris 

Wild apple is native to almost all of Europe. 
Its tart and sour fruits are 2-4 cm (0.8-1.6 in) in diameter. 
Their colour is greenish yellow with reddish tones. 
Its fruits can be eaten raw. 
These small fruits can be used to make jam, compotes, jelly, fruit wine, fruit vinegar and chutney. 
Its kernels are suitable for growing a tree from them or as a base for grafting apple trees. 
Its fruits are important winter food source for wildlife.
