This is a fabulous and elegant 4-footed treasure box, made of unknown heavy material that resembles laminated wood over a resin or wood composition or probably papier’ mache, etc. The top is decorated with a picture of different kind of beautiful rare shells and has a dark brown velvet lining. It measures 7 inches high, 16 inches long and 10 inches wide. It shows normal age wear such as tiny chips or paint loss, soiling on the lining, etc. but overall it is in good condition as shown in photos. This box can be used for jewelry, gold and silver coins, miniature treasures, letters or documents, etc.  No Makers mark, origin or date this was made is unknown. Packaged weight is approximately 10 lbs.
