Hettier & Vincent

A wonderful French art deco chandelier by Hettier & Vincent in nickel plated bronze made around 1930. With a bowl and three side-shades by Charles Schneider. In a pattern known as aux libellules (the dragonflies). The side-shades are signed Schneider France although the signature on this model is always very vague and often impossible to read. The bowl is marked France on the rim as well as its modelnumber1944. The chandelier is represented in one of the old Hettier et Vincent product catalogs. The catalog is no part of this sale.

Hettier & Vincent was a well-known French lighting company. With a high-quality finish of their lamp fixtures their chandeliers are now much sought-after items. In 1924 Louis Hettier and Calixte Vincent took over the lighting firm Millet et cie. H&V produced lamps for the top end of the market and had a shop at the prestigious and beautiful Place de Vosges in Paris - the ground floor of number 7.
The chandelier has a drop of 60,5 cm (23,8 inches) and it's about 68 cm wide (26-3/4"). The chandelier is in excellent condition.  It is re-nickeled and patinated and comes rewired. It holds three American candelabra base sockets and one American standard base one for the central bowl. For European countries I will place E14 and E27 sockets.

Free worldwide shipping. The chandelier will be shipped with full insurance by priority airmail.
