-Description: This is the original artwork for the 12-8-1959 daily comic strip ROY ROGERS by Phil Evans and Mike Arens (1915-1976).  This daily stars Gertie, who is being hijacked into providing cover for an escaped prisoner (Weepy) and his accomplice.  Speed is mandatory as Sheriff Rogers is on his way back, but Gertie seems to have something up her sleeve.  Mike Arens (born Howard Harmon Anderson) was a long time Disney artist (drawing several of their special Christmas comic strips as well as Disney's "Scamp" comic strip for several years).  He also drew the science fiction strip, Drift Marlo from 1965-1966.  A nicely rendered and tense action sequence in this scarce original art from a classic western strip.     

Condition: 

-The art is in excellent overall condition.  Minor age/handling wear.  Pencil notes below margin and to reverse.  "Engraved by CP" backstamp.

-Domestic buyer pays $15.00 for USPS priority mail shipping (includes tracking and insurance).  If the actual cost of shipping is less, I will refund the difference.
