Occre Endurance The legendary brig of Sir Ernest Shackleton

Occre's newest kit to the Market

In the race to conquer the South Pole, three names shone with their own light: Ernest Shackleton, Robert Falcon Scott, and Roald Amundsen.

The Endurance was launched on December 17, 1912 under the name "Polaris". Originally rigged as a frigate, it was converted into a three-masted brig and in 1914 it took part in the famous "Imperial Transantarctic Expedition" to cross Antarctica under the command of Sir Ernest Shackleton.

After the shipwreck on August 19, 1915, they were trapped in the ice of the Weddell Sea. During 522 days they withstood winds of up to 300 km / h and temperatures of 40 degrees below zero.

Shackleton along with a few men aboard the boat "James Caird", undertake one of the most memorable and heroic voyages in the history of navigation. Together with his entire crew, they accomplished the most important feat of all ... survive.

The expedition is remembered as an epic story of overcoming, heroism and survival.
