MAYNADIER

A rare French 1930 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze by Maynadier. Pierre Maynadier had a manufactory producing high quality art deco lighting during the interbellum in Paris (25 rue Saint-Sébastien). In the late 30s they started to make lighting in pressed brass in a modernist style. After the war the son took over and the grandson after him. The firm finally closed its doors in 1966.
In the 20s Maynadier mainly used shades by Muller freres for his bronze and wrought iron fixtures. The shades that are signed P.Maynadier were produced exclusively for Maynadier by Muller Frères in Luneville.
This nice and well-made Maynadier fixture holds a beautiful and rare bowl as well as three side-shades. Done in clear frosted molded pressed glass. All four shades are signed Maynadier. The chandelier has a total height of 94 cm (37") and a diameter of 72 cm (28-3/8"). It is in very good condition.  The bowl shows the common tiny chips here and there consisting with age. Nothing discernible once mounted. I have re-nickeled the mounting. And it comes newly wired. It holds an American standard socket and three candelabra base ones. For European countries I will place E27 and E14 sockets.
To make the mounting fit the maximum size parcel post allows I must unscrew two of the arms. It is just 8 screws to remount it again. Free worldwide shipping. Priority airmail with full insurance.
