Official UK Stamp Issue

From the Cat’s Eye Nebula to the first Pulsar and nature of Black Holes, British discoveries have been central to our understanding of outer space. So, as the Royal Astronomical Society celebrates its 200th anniversary this year, Royal Mail have issued a series of eight brilliantly vibrant official UK stamps paying tribute to some of these discoveries.

Importantly, the stamps have been postmarked with the first day of issue date – 11th February 2020 – making them highly sought-after by collectors as only a small number will ever be postmarked in this way.

Official UK 50p Immortalising a Legend

50p coins have become the firm collector favourite in recent years, none more so than the Stephen Hawking 50p coin, issued in 2019.

The release meant Stephen Hawking joined just two other extraordinary figures to be commemorated on UK coinage within one year of their death, alongside Winston Churchill and the Queen Mother.
