A SUPERB AND VERY RARE COLD PAINTED METAL NODDER OF A CAT OR KITTEN MUSICIAN BY HEYDE OF GERMANY  DATING TO C1900 - NODDERS LIKE THESE ARE EXTREMELY RARE!!!

This is just a wonderful cat made by the German company Heyde around the turn of the last century.  The cat is made of pot metal and cold painted and is created as a nodder in which the head bobs.  These early nodders are extremely rare and collectible.  The cat or kitten holds a musical instrument I believe, possibly a triangle.  It has fantastic detail and a magnificent face!  The cat comes from one of the finest American collections of animal and cat motif items.  Please see our other auctions for more cats from this collection.  We also have a nodder German Shepherd Dog!

The cat is in wonderful condition.  The period patina is intact and gorgeous.  The cat is 2 1/4 inches (57 mm) tall.

This is a superb original Antique cat, and so very hard to find in today's market!  Treat yourself or a loved one to a treasure to cherish for generations and one which will only increase in value over time!
