In the 1950's small pulp entertainment industry and fan magazines were commonly sold in news stands and by subscription featuring photos of stars with descriptions of their latest projects, for as little as ten cents to a quarter. Some magazines concentrated on one single star. "The Marlon Brando Story, a Candid Profile", published by Screen Publications, Inc., was a popular magazine of its time. This issue is focused solely on the up-and-coming movie star and sex symbol, Marlon Brando. It profiles his early life, movies, costars and many romances. Sadly, most of these small magazines were produced on low quality paper and were considered disposable in their day, so few have survived.

This magazine is in good condition for a sixty-six year old pulp magazine. Printed in black and white, with a color cover photo of Marlon Brando backstage at the 1955 Academy Awards right after winning the Oscar for Best Actor for the movie "On the Waterfront". Sixty (60) photos packed into sixty-six (66) pages. There is some foxing throughout and minimal wear to the corners. No loose pages, all intact with no rips, tears or folds. Measures approximately 4 1/8" x 6". Due to the age of this item it is being sold "as-is", so please be sure to study the pictures and description carefully, and send any questions you may have BEFORE committing to buy. We do offer combined shipping - unless otherwise requested by the buyer, we will pack and ship all items purchased and paid for by the same buyer with the same delivery address. If you want combined shipping ignore the "Pay Now" notice that is sent out at the close of each auction. Once all of my auctions scheduled to end that day have finished, I will pack the items and issue a corrected invoice for combined shipping. Wait until you receive an invoice that begins with "Here is your corrected invoice..." in the comments section. If a buyer pays before the corrected invoice is issued and the shipping and handling charges of the combined shipping are less than the amount paid, a refund will be issued through PayPal once the postage has been printed and the package shipped.
