A black hand outlined in red is the focal point of this contemporary Canadian collage made on Jan 5, 2021 by Vee CR (formally known as Vincent Chorabik or Bianca Chorabik). In the top right corner Killer Croc from Batman is being shot at by police officers and he shouts, "DEAD PIG-MEAT!" These elements, as well as the yellow paint and green crayon, are new additions to the collage previously titled "Mini Readings 4/10" (as seen on the back). The "Mini Readings 4/10" collage featured notes on Friedrich Nietzsche as part of Vee's 2018 research in aesthetic philosophy. While the original work, before the recent additions, didn't have a relationship to Black Lives Matter, the new elements cannot ignore the movement's socio-political relevance. Moreover, the relationship between Nietzche's philosophies on "the WILL (power) to live" and Croc's resistants to the bullets piercing his body is reminiscent of the powerful mutations depicted in Sweet Home (2020), Korean Horror on Netflix, created by a pandemic or 'curse'. This piece, like the body of Vee's work blurs the boundaries between high art + low art & art + life.
