This is the film version of Hikari Sentai Maskman that premiered on July 18, 1987 at the "Toei Manga Matsuri" film festival in Japan. The Toei theater chain in Japan use to have a special lineup of theatrical shorts that targeted children while they were out of school for summer, winter, and spring break. This is an original theatrical print that was shown in a Toei theater. The film has Japanese audio and no subtitles.

This special theatrical short has a different opening song(
Shot Bomber Zenryoku Shuuchuu) and has a special opening credit sequence that is different from the regular show opening.  This special opening shows the five members dancing by the side of a pool.
