Book Review:
Justin rated it & liked it!

This is a really long look at the Revelation of John. It is well researched, with notes. The author clearly has read other books about the book of Revelation especially the books by Draper, Wilcox, and Mounce. The author seems to favor Draper and Wilcox especially. Many other works are also cited, but these seem the most influential in the author's work. The author is thorough, and clearly follows the course of the book of Revelation making it a good reference work. While Brandt is well read and clearly influenced by Draper and Wilcox, he presents his own unique point of view, which he unapologetically presents. Even where Brandt may diverge in opinion with others, he does not offer any real criticism of opposing viewpoints or spends much time exploring them. His purpose is to present the results of his own research, and pondering of the book in a gospel centered presentation.
The book has a short glossary of symbols and words used in Revelation that provides a good summary of the author's research. I would recommend this book as well as that by Richard Draper. Draper's book is much shorter, and very memorable.
