Aster novi-belgii ‘Marie Ballard’ - ex 9cm Pot

Aster novi-belgii ‘Marie Ballard’ also known as Symphyotrichum novi-belgii ‘Marie Ballard’ is a clump-forming perennial with slender, dark green leaves which form a tight mound. This low growing, mildew resistant aster is covered with clusters of soft lilac-blue, double daisy-like flowers with yellow centres for much of late summer and autumn. Commonly known as Michaelmas Daisies these are established favourites for autumn colour in the perennial border. Excellent as cut flowers and also a good late nectar source for bees and other pollinators.

Thrives in light well drained soil in full sun or partial shade.

Flowers September to October.

   Maximum height/spread approx. 90cm x 75cm.

Plants will be supplied well rooted and ready for immediate planting out.  My plants are hard grown i.e. grown outside as soon as they have developed a strong enough root system to survive.  This makes them stronger, healthier & more weather tolerant plants than those which have been grown on rapidly in artificial conditions in a greenhouse.

Postage & Delivery

Plants will be removed from the pot, carefully packed & then sent in secure cardboard packaging to protect them whilst in the postal system. I offer a postage discount for multiple purchases dispatched to the same address. When you buy more than one item you will pay the full postage cost for the first item only, then a discounted rate for each extra item purchased (please see 'postage and payments' tab above for full details). I use Royal Mail for small orders whilst orders over 2kg will be sent by carrier so the MAXIMUM postage you pay need only be £9.95 for any amount of plants. Highland, Island & Offshore delivery addresses may incur additional charges.

PLEASE NOTE - Plants will only be dispatched by either Royal Mail 1st Class or carrier to minimize the amount of time spent in the postal system. Plants will be dispatched by Royal Mail on the Monday to Thursday following receipt of cleared funds (to avoid plants sitting in the sorting depot over the weekend) and by carrier on the Monday to Wednesday.
