Photograph Notes: Taylor's 90 inch non-rotative Cornish beam pumping engine. This was built in 1892 by Harvey & Co of Hayle and installed here as recently as 1922 and worked until 28 September 1954. It is the largest in situ engine in Cornwall and the 90" cylinder has a stroke of 120" with a 108" stroke in the shaft. It is now owned by the National Trust and is currently static.
