DATE PRINTED: 1823, dated on the plate, from a map first published in 1817.  

SIZE: The printed area including titles is approximately 21 x 25.5 cm, 8.25 x 10 inches (medium) plus margins. 

PROVENANCE:  This antique map was published in '“A New General Atlas Constructed by A. Arrowsmith, Hydrographer to the King. Exhibiting the Boundries and Divisions, also the Chains of Mountains and other Geographical Features of all the Known Countries in the World.”.

ARTIST/ENGRAVER: Engraved by Sidney Hall and drawn by Aaron Arrowsmith. Aaron Arrowsmith (1750–1823) was an English cartographer, engraver and publisher and founding member of the Arrowsmith family of geographers. Sidney Hall (1788?–1831) was a British engraver and cartographer .

TYPE: Antique copper plate engraving printed on paper.

VERSO: There is nothing printed on the reverse side, which is blank.
