The 80 is a filamentary full-wave high-vacuum rectifier designed for use in the power supply of a-c operated equipment. Electrically the 80 is similar to the 5Y3GT and 5Y4G. The VT80 was the landmark full-wave rectifier and the first mass-produced rectifier to use oxide-coated tape filaments.
