The Montblanc 2019 Patron of Art Edition Fountain Pen honors the emperor Hadrian with a luxurious design inspired by Roman elements.  The cap and barrel are constructed from Egyptian basalt, tastefully accented by metal fittings coated in ruthenium and gold.  The clip takes its form from a sheaf of wheat.  Portraits of Antinous and Medusa are engraved on the cap band.  Roman architecture commissioned by Hadrian is stylized into the design of the finial and cone. The fine nib is 18K gold with a special engraving of a phoenix.  The finial is set with the iconic Montblanc snowcap in black and white precious-resin.  Piston-fill mechanism.  One of 4,810 limited pieces.
