An amazing piece of advertising that somehow was saved. The post was a front porch post or at least a section of one. Painted on the four sides are names of items that were for sale in the store: Cigars, Perfumes, Wallpaper, Stationary. The paint has a wonderful old patina and all appears to be original. There appears to be a repair near the bottom of the post and some paint touch up.

The post is 6" wide on each side x 77 1/2" tall. We have had an iron base made that the post rests in and can be removed. The round iron base is 25 1/2" in diameter and makes the overall height 81 1/4" tall.

The wooden bottom of the post, pictured, has the cutouts that wooden posts had which was done to keep it from retaining moisture.

This post was found in a collection in Oklahoma which could very well be it's original location.
