The Cuban Poster Gallery appreciates your business!

OUR PRICE FOR THIS POSTER IS $389 We are thrilled to offer a graphic arts masterpiece, this Mexican hand-signed, dated and numbered limited-edition silkscreen that celebrates the elaborately costumed Huichol indigenous people. Only 25 examples of this graphic exist!

The Huichol are depicted in this graphic on their annual pilgrimage to Wirikuta, a scared site in the northern Mexican state of San Luis Potosi, one of the few places where the sacred Peyote cactus grows. Like many sites sacred to indigenous nations, Huichol lands are facing desecration in the name of capitalist expansion and natural resource extraction, according to the artist.

This beautifully detailed 2012 silkscreen is titled Tamatsima Wahaa, the name of the Mexican organization that seeks to protect the Huichol against outside intrusions. The silkscreen is titled (in Spanish): "Let's Defend The Sacred Sites; No to Mining Companies in Wirikuta." Note the magical deer-- important in Huichol culture and spiritual life--at the top of the graphic!

This hard-to-find poster was designed in 2013 by well-respected Mexican City-based designer SANTIAGO ARMENGOD (he signs his artwork CORDYCEPS), whose work can be found in prestigious collections such as Stanford University's in California and Wellesley College's in Massachusetts. The poster was screen-printed on heavyweight acid-free art paper.

As mentioned above, a mere 25 examples of this poster exist, ensuring it will always be rare! The poster measures approximately 20 by 13 inches (50 x 72 cm).

Overall condition of this original poster is good. (We never rate any of the screen-prints we sell as perfect because they are handmade). Buy with 100 percent confidence: all posters purchased from the Cuban Poster Gallery on eBay can be returned for any reason within 30 days.

About shipping: Buyers with an address in the United States, your purchase will be shipped FREE by USPS Ground Advantage or UPS with delivery confirmation. For international buyers (outside of the United States), eBay will calculate the cost of shipping and any required Customs duties and taxes. ///
