Dalia (Dale) Messick 1906 – 2005 original pen and ink cartoon art Brenda Starr

Up for sale is a fantastic, original, pen and ink Brenda Starr cartoon by well known artist Dalia (Dale) Messick. This three panel cartoon is an original. Signed by Messick with a Chicago Tribune sticker attached dating it. (See photo) Messick is an exceptionally well known cartoonist and her comic Brenda Starr ran for forty years and, at its peak, was published by more than 250 news papers a day.  

The piece is unframed. In generally good condition with some wear especially at edges. Note there are pencil marks and notes at edges which were part of the cartooning process and put in by editors or the artist as it was measured and arraigned for publication. A fantastic piece overall it measures approximately 16 x 5 and 1/4 inches including the boarder areas.
