DESCRIPTION
You are bidding on an original, one-of-a-kind production cel used for the making of Nightmare (Chicken Man and Red Neck) short film from Robot Carnival done by Takashi Nakamura (Key Animator for Otomo’s AKIRA). Large image of Chicken Man riding his bike. A27 cel. Comes with a blank douga paper stuck to cel. Cel and douga paper are stapled together at top as well. The cel is in very good condition with minor traceline fade as expected in cels of this vintage as shown. A few specks of paint missing from the traceline. There is some minor crease and dent marks. Including the certificate of authenticity. Image size is 7.75 inches by 9.75 inches. Overall size is 10 inches by 11.75 inches. Come protected for shipping in a polypropylene bag.
Robot Carnival has been compared to Disney's Fantasia in feeling and setup, in that it is a collection of nine shorts by several different directors, put together, and containing only music (with a few exceptions). The difference, as the title suggests, is that this feature focuses on robots. It's wrapped by a Katsuhiro Otomo (creator of Akira) opening and ending. This 1980s anime classic was an inspiration for the Netflix hit show Love, Death + Robots.
