This listing, MY NUMBER 192a4245M84040, is for ONE (1) Roll of Forty (40) Authentic, Circulated Condition, World War II Era, Solid 35% Ag (SILVER) Alloy U.S. Jefferson Head Nickels from the years 1942 through 1945 as business struck and issued by the Official United States Government Mints in Denver, Philadelphia and San Francisco. The composition of these nickels was modified in October of the year 1942 to divert the Metallic Element Nickel into use for the manufacture of munitions and equipment essential to U.S. War Efforts. Aside from color and composition, these War Nickels can be easily distinguished from other Jefferson Nickels by the oversized "D", "P" & "S" Mint Marks located on the reverse above the dome of Monticello. These coins are guaranteed to each be at least 79 YEARS OLD and some of them are as old as 82 years! The roll you receive will be randomly selected from my bin which has a mix of Coins within the 1942-1945 date range bearing "D", "P" and "S" Mint Marks.

These Jefferson Nickels bear the Monticello image on Reverse. As of this listing, these Dated Nickels can still be found very sporadically in circulation, but that is rapidly changing. Thousands of hoarders race to cull circulated nickels daily to sift out what is left in circulation.
