I just returned from Chiapas where I purchase a number of these small Bags / Morrals.  They are all hand woven by Tzotzil Mayan women of San Andrés Larrainzar.  This piece was hand woven on a back strap loom with traditional images from Mayan culture on the front. 

This bag has been padded on the inside and because of this padding and it's size, it is the perfect bag to protect your cell phone!!  There is a zipper closure at the top.

It measures;  8 1/4 inches wide by 6 inches tall.   The braided strap is 49 inches long.  

It is a lovely color combination of Lavender and Teal color stripes with woven nubby details on the front in Orange, Purple, Aqua, Tan and Mauve.....  It is a nice practical size, for when you only need to carry a few items....  It is a really lovely bag and has a wonderful ethnic Hippie, Boho Chic feel to it!

This is a wonderful example of Mexican Folk art, and is a very reasonable price for the amount of work that has gone into creating it!
