Replacement sight glass with pictures and instructions on how to install.

This is an 18mm outside diameter Master Brake Cylinder Reservoir Sight Glass and O ring seal for Motorcycles, mopeds or Dirt Bikes.

This will fit the majority of old yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Harley Davidson, modern Chinese bikes, lots of motocross and dirt bikes, and many other brake cylinders. BUT YOU MUST CHECK because some of these old bikes have had replacement master cylinders etc over the years.

It can be fitted to your front or rear brake cylinder as long as the recess is 18mm diameter after you have removed the old one and cleaned up the recess.

How to install properly...

Check out the pictures on my listing. I have fitted one on a lexmoto vixen 125 front master cylinder and taken pictures to show you how..

1.first.. Empty the reservoir of all brake fluid and pack it with tissue paper and then completely remove your old sight glass including the metal ring and rubber O ring seal. You may need to punch it out from the inside or prise it out with a screwdriver! as they corrode in the recess so be extra careful not to damage your aluminium housing.

Then follow these instructions carefully..

2. Clean around the outside recess with some fine abrasive paper until its nice and shiny again. 320 grit is plenty rough enough if you have to remove aluminium corrosion.

3. Clean out the Reservoir well of the paper and any particles. I use a little carb cleaner, rags and an air line to finish it off before fitting the new one.

3. Place the rubber o ring seal in the sight glass recess

4. Ensure the outside edges of the sight glass are smooth and then Gently press the sight glass piece in to the hole with your fingers

5. Cover the face of the sight glass with a soft cloth or small piece of cardboard to prevent damage and carefully press or squeeze the sight glass into place. Don't use a hammer! I use a quick clamp with plastic faces, look at the pictures. a small G clamp can also work well but make sure you can see it moving into the depth of the recess and don't put too much pressure on it. See pictures

Check to make sure the face is square in the recess. It doesn't always sit flush with the front though.

6. Refill with new brake fluid and bleed the brake caliper until clean fluid comes through the bleed nipple.

This is universal and easy to fit and it comes complete with the proper o ring seal.

I am a genuine UK seller and have actually fitted these myself. You won't have to wait a month or two for delivery and if you are careful and you follow the instructions you won't break this one pressing it in.

Nobody I've sold one to has broken it yet so please take care and follow these instructions.

Other sellers recommend hitting these in with a hammer until flush with the front.... Bodgers and obviously haven't got a clue what they are doing!, Many of my sales have been from people that have been disappointed with the cheaper ones that are available as they break or have black spots inside them or have injection moulding nipples on the outside which can slice the O ring through when you push it in.

Delivered for free unless you want 1st class postage which is £1 extra but you won't find faster delivery than us! Please make your selection on purchase.
