The Cuban Poster Gallery appreciates your business!

Our price for this poster is $249 We are delighted to offer SHE WHO PROTECTS THE EARTH ALSO PROTECTS LIFE, an original Mexican screen-printed poster designed in 2010 to protest environmental policies at the United Nations' Climate Change Conference in Cancun, Mexico.

This handmade poster was designed by the respected Mexico City-based designer SANTIAGO ARMENGOD (he signs his artwork CORDYCEPS) whose work can be found in prestigious collections such as Stanford University's in California and Wellesley College's in Massachusetts.

The poster -- printed on recycled paper -- offers a nod to preservation of life and the Zapatista movement in the Mexico's largely Mayan state of Chiapas. The poster shows us Mayan ritual symbols, a masked Zapatista woman with a child, a barren landscape and a corn plant that represents hope and life.

The artist, SANTIAGO ARMENGOD, was among many activists who believed the United Nations' environmental policies favored industrial nations over developing nations, especially those such as Mexico with large communities of indigenous people.

The 2010 climate change conference in the popular Mexican resort city of Cancun drew about 12,000 participants, including representatives of United Nations bodies and agencies, government officials, nongovernmental organizations and members of the news media.

This hard-to-find screen-print measures approximately 27 by 17 inches (43 x 68 cm).

Overall condition of this original poster is good. (We never rate any of the screen-prints we sell as perfect because they are handmade). Please see the photos we have posted. Buy with 100 percent confidence: all posters purchased from the Cuban Poster Gallery on eBay can be returned for any reason within 30 days.

Your United Nations protest poster by Santiago Armengod will be shipped FREE to U.S. addresses by USPS Ground Advantage or UPS (with delivery confirmation) in a sturdy tube. For international buyers (outside of the United States), eBay will calculate the cost of shipping and any required Customs duties and taxes.
