These easy to use liquids are dilutions of powdered pigments and are water soluble. Dyes have a smaller particle size than pigments and colour product by solubilising; this makes them best suited to liquid products. The different colours we stock can be blended together to create a whole rainbow of colours.

  • Supplied in easy to use squeezable bottle with dropper nozzle (100ml in PET bottle with tilt lid and flow restrictor)
  • Liquid dyes maintain transparency in liquid and melt & pour soaps but may bleed a little in complex designs. 
  • Use sparingly and add to water phase. 
  • Do not add to dry powder.
  • Best suited for use in Melt & Pour Soaps, liquid soap bases, creams & lotions
  • Check individual colour information below for suitability for use in bath bombs or cold process soap making (this is due to different pH tolerances)

Blue CI 42090 - A bright blue, also known as  E133, Acid Blue 9, D&C Blue No. 4, Alzen Food Blue No. 1, Atracid Blue FG, Erioglaucine, Eriosky Blue, Patent Blue AR and Xylene Blue VSG. Not stable in extreme pH environments

INCI: Aqua, CI 42090, Phenoxyethanol EHG (Ethylhexylglycerine)

 

Orange CI 15985 - Also known as sunset yellow, E110, Orange Yellow 5 or FD&C Yellow 6. It will darken to a red in strong alkali but returns to orange when the pH is reduced. pH stable.

Yellow CI 19140 - Also known as tartrazine, E102 or FD&C Yellow 5. pH stable

Red CI 16035 – A yellow spectrum, mid red colour also known as Allura Red, Food Red 17 or FD&C Red 40. Contrary to popular belief, it is not extracted from any insect. Not stable in extreme pH environments.

Green CI 61570 - Also known as Ebest Green GTSC, FD&C Green 5 or Acid Green 25. pH stable

  • Can be used in low addition rates for bath bombs. For stronger colours, choose our powder dyes instead.
  • Best suited for use in Melt & Pour Soaps, liquid soap bases, creams & lotions
  • Tolerant of extreme pH (acid and alkali)
  • Suitable for vegetarians and vegans
