Titus Andronicus’ sophomore album The Monitor earned the indie rock band a place at the top of Billboard charts when it was released in 2010, just two years after their debut album. Named after the ship USS Monitor, the concept album touches on motifs surrounding the Civil War, with titles like “A More Perfect Union,” “Four Score and Seven” and “The Battle of Hampton Roads” referencing historical instances. Layered guitar riffs and roaring percussion crash together to form a striking melodic component to the album, while frontman Patrick Stickles howls with, at times dissonant but energizing, highly personal lyrics.

In 2020, Titus Andronicus sought to celebrate the album’s 10 year anniversary, but as the pandemic swept through the globe, the band halted their plans. Now, Titus Andronicus returns to celebrate the album’s anniversary with a repress of their acclaimed album, topping off the commemoration with a tour.
