Offered for sale is a recent acquisition - this is a Pyrography scarf or glove box with lady golfers from the 1930's (late 20's - early 1930's) on the front.  Pyrography was a popular hobby in the 1920's / 1930's when people had more time on their hands.  This is also sometimes known as burnt wood art.  Several things attracted me to this box:

1)  the amazing red & green strong coloring on the front - many times Pyrographic pieces are faded, but not this example
2)  the theme- lady golfers of the 20's / 30's - women were coming into their own with new hobbies and pasttimes
3)  the beautiful images both inside and outside of the box - 4 images of the golfing women
4)  the condition - this box is in amazing condition!!

This particular piece or box is mentioned on page 117 of Beverly Robb's "Collectible Golfing Novelties" book.  I saw one or two other examples of this box on eBay BUT they were faded and the box was in poor condition.  This box has no water damage.  It is from the 1930's so it may have a few scuffs - but the condition is GREAT!!  Please see all of the photos and check my feedback!.  This is one of the nicest examples of pyrography that I have ever seen!!  Please write with any questions.  This is a great golfing collectible, pyrography collectible, scarf / glove box collectible, and this would look amazing displayed on a wall or shelf!!
