Portugalian Tremoceiro White Lupin

Latin Name: Lupinus albus

White lupine is a 30-120 cm tall herbaceous annual plant. It is a species of Mediterranean origin, native to southeastern Europe, Anatolia, the Middle East and North Africa. It was probably first cultivated by the ancient Egyptians and then domesticated in Greece; at least here are most of the versions today. Today it is grown in Europe, North America, West Asia, North Africa and Australia. Its sweet-seeded versions only appeared in the 1930s.

The Portuguese Tremoceiro is an excellent-tasting, high-yielding, large-seeded lupine variety.
