Taxco Enrique Ledesma Brooch Sterling.

A favorite Taxco artist of mine, Enrique Ledesma studied at the San Carlos Academy of Art in Mexico City just as Diego Rivera, Ricardo Salas, Matilde Poulat. Taught silversmithing by his father, he began he later joined Las Delicias.

Ledesma’s craftsmanship and artistry are both present here. The fine curved lines between the stone setting and sterling are a difficult step to master with the tools of his day: no gaps are visible between the two materials.
