This is one NOS brand new Ford Idle stop solenoid / dashpot for 1983-1984 Ford Mustang, LTD, Thunderbird, F-150, F-250, E-150 and E-250 models equipped with a 5.0L 302cid engine. The Ford Engineering number for this part is E2AE-9S520-BB / E2AE-9S520-AB.  The Ford service part numbers are E3ZZ-9S520-A and E3TZ-9S520-A.  It is correct for  the applications listed in the compatibility chart. 

The idle stop solenoid ensures the engine shuts off completely when the key is moved to the "off" position, eliminating dieseling / run-on problems which can damage the engine.  The Dashpot prevents the throttle from closing too quickly and causing the engine to stall when the driver's foot is lifted off the accelerator pedal
