It is typical shinogi-zukuri shape, with Chu-kissaki tip.
It probably might have been shortened from a Tachi sword. The province is unknown but it appears probably from the BIZEN province due to the typical deep Sori and curvature.
It has a tight JIHADA and nice NIOI-DEKI gunome-midare hamon .
It has no signature - Mumei but has great workmanship.
The saya has been refinished with a snake skin design, it has a nice horn kurikata with shakudo shitodome.
The habaki is very nice - silver foil style with 2 patterns also from Early Edo period.
The tsuka has plain iron fittings, cast brass menuki leaf design, silk ito on ray skin, probably late Edo period.
The tsuba is plain dished centre very good quality - hand-forged from Early Edo period cca. 1650.
