The train sets of the Type 600 are diesel-mechanical train sets which were used from 1930 onward by the National

 Railway Company of Belgium (NMBS).

At the end of the 1920s the NMBS placed an order for 3 diesel-mechanical motor carriages of the type 600 from the

 German EVA/Wagonfabrik in Wismar.

On 6 January 1930 the first motorised carriage was commissioned in service, and six months later this was followed

by the two other motorised carriages.

They were classified as type 600 and were given the company numbers from 600.01 to 600.03.

The motor carriages were stationed in Merelbeke and deployed from Ghent to Eeklo, Tielt and Antwerp.
