Very beautiful old violin around 2nd half 1800.

Nicely carved scroll and accurately inlaid purfling. This beautiful violin shows former professionally executed repairs on the back, but now no open cracks or open seams. Please note the repair label from the Julius Altrichter workshop in Frankfurt a. O. / Germany dated 1901. The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the back is nicely flamed maple. Like always the violin has been checked by our luthier and by our violinist on playability. In our workshop it received new setup with newly fitted elder ebony pegs, elder ebony tailpiece, elder ebony chinrest, a new bridge and new strings.
These are new German silver wound steel core strings, which have a good projection and allow quick finger action. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins, to allow a comparison of the tonality of each instrument in the videos. We would recommend higher quality strings of your own preference to enhance the full character of this violin!

Measures aprox.: total 59 cm / 23.2", body 36 cm / 14.2", vibrating chord length 32,5 cm / 12.8", weight 464 gr / ~16.4 oz.
