• This is a pin badge from the border guards of Czechoslovakia (Pohranicni straz) featuring the wolf head logo in gold coloured metal. The badge face is 2.4cm high and has a long, stick pin fastener to the rear.

  Item Description

  Established in 1951 and abolished in 1990. Officially, the goal of the Border Guard was to defend forces that were hostile to the the regime and that tried to penetrate the territory of what was then Czechoslovakia from Western infiltrators. In practice, the main goal was to prevent citizens from fleeing communist Czechoslovakia.
