Boxed SET Microphoto attachment "MFN-1" LOMO Collectible
The main functional purpose of any MFN was to create an opportunity for different photosystems to photograph the field of view of the microscope.
The removable microphoto attachment of the MFN-1 type is designed for photographing objects both in transmitted and reflected light. In terms of design, the photo attachment is universal and adapted to all microscope stands with an outer diameter of the eyepiece tube of 25 mm. With the help of a special clamp, the photo attachment is attached to the eyepiece tube of the microscope. Over the years of MFN-1 production, there were at least three different versions. Initially, MFN-1 was produced for formats 6.5x9 (MFK-1) and 9x12 (MFK-2). As it was said in the instructions - "At the request of the customer, the attachment is supplied with one of the cameras, or 6.5X9, or 9X12 cm." Subsequently, the MFK-3 was designed to work with the microphoto attachment (it was a Zorky-3 camera with a modified long exposure head - see the corresponding section). In the microphoto attachment itself there was a built-in central shutter with two exposures: "M" (instantaneous) and "K" (short); long exposure was provided manually using a cable.
"The attachment has a visual tube with a diopter mechanism, with the help of which a sharp image of an object is obtained on a photographic plate. Eyepieces, either usually used in microscopes or special photographic eyepieces manufactured by our factory, are used as a projection system. Eyepieces, together with micro lenses, project an image of an object onto a photographic plate."
