1940s Argus C3 Camera 35mm Rangefinder Coated Cintar Lens Orig Case.

A camera with historical significance and a unique appearance, this Argus C3 35mm camera (serial number 691883) is a heavy piece of steel and Bakelite with leather trim. It is known as “The Brick,” or The Model T of cameras and based on our amateur research, was made in approximately late 1946 or early 1947. It’s in an original branded leather case.

It comes with the Argus 50mm f3.5 Coated Cintar lens.

In addition to its serial number 691883, there are two patent numbers inside: US PAT 2298107 patented Oct. 6, 1942 & US PAT 2298787 patented Oct 13, 1942.

Cosmetic Condition: Very good vintage condition with mild oxidization to metal, NOTE that the back compartment latches but takes some effort to do so.

While the camera looks to be in very good condition, it is NOT TESTED so we cannot be certain that it is fully functioning. It is sold as-is.

Leather case with shoulder strap made of top grain cowhide also made in the US. It has signs of age, use and wear. The rear snap closure tab is missing.
