I offer this neat extruded aluminium housing together with a good quality N-Type Male to SMA male adapter as a convenient kit. The idea is to mount a commonly available AD8318 or similar power sensor module inside to form an RF Power Sensor head.

There are a few designs out there that utilise the AD8318 with an Arduino. Personally I'm going to try a simple zero-drift op-amp circuit with a surplus analogue meter. Common to any design is the requirement for a fairly rugged power sensor head that can be used repeatedly and give consistent results. You can't get this using the AD8318 module alone because the SMA connector is simply not up to the job, it quickly wears out. The N-type adapter supplied in the kit means the module only has to be connected once and so provides a huge improvement in reliability.

I wanted to make a simple but affordable power meter so that I wasn't working completely blind whilst making my Es'hail upconvertor. Of course, you can use the parts any way you want.

The case is 80mm long and the flat sides are ideal for displaying calibration data. If you only need this case, please see my other listing.

Pack contains 1 x Case consisting of two halves and one end plate; one N male to SMA male adapter, 8 screws and a cable sleeve.

The power sensor module shown is NOT included but is commonly available on ebay or banggood etc - best price I found was £7.50.

Easy to assemble. On my unit I sanded a few mm off the regulator side of the AD8318 module PCB shown in the picture.

Sadly, the N adapter is a mm too big to go in the post as a large envelope and has to go as a small parcel so postage cost is significant.
