Miguel de la Espriella (aka "Noble") was once called the Latin American Matisse by the renowned poet Gonzalo Villegas for his mastery of color and palette in the creation of his art masterpieces.

"In his use of colours, "Noble" is the Matisse of Latin America." - Gonzalo Villegas

This latest example of his art shows the excellence of his abilities and form part of the "Alchemy" series.

"Noble" represented Colombia, his native country, at the Cultural Art Exhibition of the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

His work has presented in a number of museums, art fairs and galleries around the world and has also been  presented in both the Colombian Congress and the Senate in several individual exhibitions.

He is often admired by his contemporary artists due to his originality and creative abilities and his work has touched on many genres in over four decades of artist creation, from impressionism to expressionism, from magic realism to fantasy and abstract.

This is a beautiful work that can be hung either vertically (65" high and 41" wide) or horizontally (41" high and 66" wide).

His well known "Noble" logo signature is signed on the back.

De la Espriella's work has been recognised internationally by the likes of Gabriel Garcia Marquez (Nobel Prize Winner for Literature), Rafael Escalona (Composer), Francisco Gil Tovar (Spanish Art Historian) and Eduardo Marceles Daconte (Cultural Investigator and Museum Curator,NYC).

"There is in the painting of Miguel de la Espriella, "NOBLE", an explosion of light that comes from a background of shadows, the glare of the universe in the middle of a vegetable serfdom populated by birds and dragonflies. What makes an impact are his chiaroscuros with that essential validity that has always been present in Rembrandt. But in the concrete case of Noble it is not about imitation, but continuity, of a process that is forever in renewal and becase of that, lasts. It is the survival of art and its real mode of expression while at the same time controlling it. We shall all have to get used to seeing it remain in his canvas and sculptures, as proof of his versatility."
- Gabriel Garcia Marquez (Nobel Prize Winner for Literature 1982) in 1998.

"In this time of great social and political conflict, we cannot always expect a contentious and orderly art, but rather an artistic work that raises questions and creates a wound. That is how Miguel de la Espriella (Sucre, who lives and works in Bogota), known as "Noble" in the cultural sphere, organizes chaos through expressionist compositions of stains, dripping, zigzagging lines and multi-colored dots in which birds, fish or butterflies, Caribbean flora and fauna are perceived that are actually a pretext to weave around them a swarm of vibrant and disturbing chromaticism. For those of us who observe extraterrestrial space, his painting refers to science fiction visions or sidereal landscapes of the unconscious that emerge to satisfy our curiosity about a silent and unexplored world.
