Photograph Notes: Stibbard village sign is the most unusual in the county. It pays tribute to those who toil on the land and have done for hundreds of years in the past. The plough is a genuine plough but the ploughman is made up of scrap. On the end of the plinth is a plaque with a list of the parts used. The Ploughman. Made by Ros Newman. Four horse shoes, root shredder, edger, two pitch forks, two forks, chain link, harness pieces, tin hat, sugar beet hook, two door hinges, branding iron, two hoes, pincers, tail docker, rake, sugar beet fork, various bits from modern agricultural machinery. The plaque on the front reads Presented to the village by the Stibbard and District Womens Institute to commemorate their golden jubilee 1926 1976. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6794147
