Photograph Notes: Another neglected village sign. Covered in green algae. The sign is surmounted by a family crest but I am unsure what kind of animal it is. I can find no explanation for the three figures except that Shouldham Thorpe was probably in the hands of the Gilbertine Priory at Shouldham, founded in the early thirteenth century. The Priory was dissolved under Henry VIII in 1539. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6804860
