Aurora has created a special limited edition series, which has been chosen as the official pen for the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America.

The pen resumes the Optima model and is gold-plated with a special hand-engraved arabesque pattern.

All pens are engraved with the individual number and the stylus mounts an 18 carat solid gold nib.

Fountain pens, ballpoint pens and pencils are available in a limited edition of 1492 pieces for each writing mode.

Covered in gold, they have a jewel clip, which ends with a ball. The pencil mounts a very precise rotation mechanism while the sphere uses the twist mechanism.

The triptych is a masterpiece of Italian craftsmanship.

A guilloché design cleverly designed by the Turinese goldsmiths decorates the central band with commemorative dates "1492-1992" and the three Caravels.

A transparent case sealed with sealing wax contains sand from the island of San Salvador and three 18 kt gold nuggets, to represent the caravels of Christopher Columbus: Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria.

Each pen is kept in its square wooden box complete with individual warranty.
