Chinese ‘Sage’ Figurine Known as ‘Shoulao’, Mint Perfect Condition,
- Shoulao is the God of Longevity and is associated with the Canopus star of the South Pole.
- The Figurine is an Old Man, in a Kimono , Bald, with a High Forehead, and a long white beard, carrying a staff and a peach.
- [Shoulao is known in China as one of the three Gods Known Collectively as ‘Fu-Lu-Shou San Xing’ The Three Stellar Deities of Happiness, Wealth and Longevity].
- The figurine is hand-carved, possibly from ? Soapstone but we are unsure. It has been hand decorated and them glossed over with gloss, no makers mark except the marking underneath as pictured.
